Every Friday
2000s throwback party in the Houston Heights, hosted by DJ Perry. The world didn't end at midnight. Neither do we.
Every Friday. Doors at 6, happy hour till 9, DJ Perry after that.
$3 Lemon Drops till 11$5 Tito's till 11
Get here before 11. Your 2004 self would have.
A 2000s party, every Friday, at a shot bar in the Heights. DJ Perry plays the stuff you pretended to be too cool for in high school and now scream every word of: the pop, the hip-hop, the reggaeton, the one-hit wonders. Tokyo Joe's is two floors at Beall and 20th with bartenders pouring from the bar top, CO2 cannons, confetti, and a dragon over the DJ booth.
No cover, ever. No dress code either, but the low-rise jeans and the going-out top are welcome. 21 and up with a real ID. The dance floor is the ping pong table once it gets moved out of the way, usually around 11, which is also when the $3 Lemon Drops and $5 Tito's stop. Plan accordingly.
Doors at 6. Happy hour till 9 is $4 wells and $3.50 Michelobs. Free lot on site, free street parking, and the Uber is still the smarter plan.
Bachelorette, birthday, a 30th that needs the full treatment? The upstairs is yours with your own bartender and a stripper pole. Yes, really.
No. There's never a cover at Tokyo Joe's.
The 2000s. DJ Perry runs it: pop, hip-hop, reggaeton, the throwbacks. Requests happen if you ask nicely and tip accordingly.
$3 Lemon Drops and $5 Tito's run till 11 pm. After that it's regular price and you're on your own.
No. Dress like it's 2004 or don't.
